Why your mood matters

The Law of Assumption is the idea that what you assume to be true will manifest in your reality. It was popularized by Neville Goddard, who taught that your beliefs and assumptions shape your experiences.

Instead of focusing on external circumstances, you align your thoughts, feelings, and identity with your desired outcome.

By consistently assuming the reality you want, your subconscious mind accepts it, influencing your actions and creating circumstances that make it real. Essentially, you don’t attract what you want, you attract what you assume to be true.

This does not mean, however, that you are living in a fantasy world in your head all day… that would drive you insane! This simply means that you have to start building your belief in the possibility of a different reality. The belief that you are the person who can and will live this life and have what you want.

This may seem like mumbo-jumbo right now, but stay with me…

You get from this world what you put into it. If you’re constantly in a negative headspace, always looking at the bad in the world and the negative things happening to you, then that will be the world you continue to live in.

You’ve probably heard the phrase before, “they woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” or even “who pissed in your cheerios this morning?'“; meaning whoever it is is having a “bad day,” they’re in a “bad mood” or are being an overall crabbypants. You probably even know someone who is consistently in a bad mood, who is never happy or satisfied with anything.

This “mood” is your state of being, your concept of self, “I AM” or identity. This mood colours everything you say, do, and perceive to be true. It is the “lens” you see the world through, otherwise known as your mindset.

When you’re in a “bad mood”, everything looks bad. Nothing can cheer you up, things that normally you wouldn’t think twice about start to annoy you or upset you further. The opposite can also be true: you can be in such a good mood that nothing anyone does or says can tear you out of it!

If there is something you’ve been trying to manifest with no success, ask yourself: “Am I being a person who could have this?”

Are you still thinking thoughts that imply you DON’T or CAN’T have what you want? Do your habits and actions line up with those of a person who would have it? You’d be surprised how much you may still be thinking and doing that are stopping you from manifesting the life you want!

Tip of the day

Take the time today to observe the thoughts you have today and the habits you still practice. Observe and make notes throughout the day to see what patterns you are still holding onto. This is not about blame and shame, or getting discouraged by what we learn, it’s a tool that will help you hold yourself accountable and take the necessary steps to change!
